Thanks for your interest!
Currently, demand for microFIT PV installation is so great that we can no longer perform site analysis or give quotes. Thanks for you interest in solar energy, and we’ll post an update when we’re prepared to take on new clients.
microFIT PV connection complete
Quantum's first microFIT grid connection
A Prince Edward County resident recently had their photovoltaic (PV)system connected to the electrical grid! Along with Quantum’s work on this job, there were numerous steps to take to get connected: the wiring of components by the master electrican, the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) inspection and finally, the Hydro One connection. With the recent introduction of the mircoFIT program, Quantum has already seen a 20% increase in demand for PV systems.
10 kW microFIT Systems
Carwash and Barn in Hartington
Quantum recently installed two 10kW grid-tied PV systems just north of Kingston. Both of these systems will take advantage of the microFIT program offered by the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). The annual system output for a 10kW system is approximately 12,250kWh which works out to approximately $9800 annual revenue.

Grid connected wind turbine
Quantum is currently installing a 5 KW wind turbine at a residential location North of Kingston. This turbine will sit on a 80 foot guyed tower and be connected into the electricity grid through a 6000 watt Windy Boy inverter. The system should produce 25 – 30 KWh of electricity a day.
Kingston Housing Manager goes Solar
Kingston & Frontenac Housing Corporation (KFHC) has recently hired Quantum to install a 20 panel solar hot water system at the 101-unit building at 300 Conacher Drive. The system will reduce their hot water bills up to 50%/year, with a greenhouse gas reduction of approximately 14 tonnes/year. This is the second installation contracted to Quantum by the housing manager, the first being installed in November 2007 at 176 Wilson St.
microFIT Program Systems
Quantum recently installed a 3.06kW photovoltaic system in Odessa. The owner will be taking advantage of the new feed-in tariff (FIT) offered by the Ontario Power Authority (OPA), which sees customers selling their power back to the province at 80.2 cents/kWh. The program denotes that a minimum of 40% of the system components must be manufactured or produced in Ontario. Quantum is able to achieve this requirement, and is pleased to support Ontario industry. Read More…
